Expert Tips for Financial Advisors to Engage with Business Owners

Most wealth advisors actively look for ways to add new assets and help clients simplify their financial lives. Jay Hummel, the host of “The Deep Dive” chats with Geoff Eliason of SDR Ventures, an investment bank that helps business owners get the most value for their firms when it’s time to sell. They discuss ways that advisors can guide clients who own businesses toward successful exits, and how that effort can lead to both additional AUM from the sales, as well as added enterprise value in their own advisory firms.  

Geoff Eliason: Geoff joined investment bank SDR Ventures as a principal in 2021. He brings nearly two decades of industry experience to the role and provides strategic solutions focused on M&A complexities. Geoff holds Series 79, 24 and 63 securities licenses and was part of the launch team of an ETF company. Additionally, he once served as the business development officer at Invesco PowerShares, overseeing the largest RIA relationships, family offices, and ETF strategists for the western half of the U.S. He then went on to acquire, grow, and sell a nationally recognized asset and wealth management company based in Colorado.
