Nicole Kidman Debuts Daughters on the Red Carpet

Nicole Kidman’s daughters are all grown up – and red carpet ready. On Saturday, April 27, The Northman actress’s mini-mes made a rare appearance to support their mom as she received an AFI Lifetime Achievement Award at a star-studded celebration in Los Angeles. Kidman, who channeled Oscar statue vibes in a statuesque gold sequined Balenciaga gown, held hands with her daughters Sunday, 15, and Faith, 13, as they walked the event and posed for pictures together.

The Big Little Lies star’s daughters, whom she shares with Keith Urban, made their red carpet debut in floor-length Monique Lhuillier gowns, per WWD. Sunday looked elegant in a white floral dress with a full skirt from Lhuillier’s spring 2024 ready-to-wear collection. She wore her highlighted hair in a messy bun with face-framing pieces to highlight the gown’s sweetheart neckline. Meanwhile, her younger sister went for a burnt orange strapless mermaid dress from Monique Lhuillier’s fall 2023 ready-to-wear collection that featured a bodice overlay. Faith wore her light brown locks in loose, beachy waves.

While the 2024 AFI Life Achievement Award gala was a family affair – Kidman’s sister Antonia, her brother-in-law Craig Marran, and their family were also in attendance – the Destroyer actress has previously opened up about why she doesn’t let her daughters walk the red carpet.

In a 2018 interview on the Today show, she shared that she prefers to slip into the back doors of events instead of walking the red carpet when her daughters are there.

“[My daughters] come in the back way. As much as they would love to come down a red carpet, I’m like, no, we come in the back way,” she said of her kids, who were 10 and seven at the time.

“I’m still very protective,” she explained. “They say sometimes you’ve got to hurt a child in order to help them, but a mother knows when something isn’t right.”

However, now that her daughters appear to be following in her cinematic footsteps with cameos in The Angry Birds Movie 2, Big Little Lies, and The Undoing, it wouldn’t be surprising if fans see more Kidman-Urban family moments on the red carpets now that they’re grown up.
