Britney Spears is clarifying reports that she got into a physical altercation with her rumored boyfriend at the Chateau Marmont earlier Thursday. In an Instagram statement posted hours later, the singer said paramedics “showed up at my door illegally” at the hotel after she allegedly twisted her ankle.
“They never came in my room but I felt [completely] harassed,” she wrote, before adding that she was going to move to Boston.
Several outlets reported Thursday morning that paramedics were called to the Chateau Marmont after an alleged fight between the pop star and her reported boyfriend, Paul Richard Soliz. The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that paramedics were dispatched after a call was received at 12:42 a.m. claiming that a woman had been injured at the hotel, per NBC News. But the LAFD has yet to officially identify Spears.
Paparazzi photos captured Spears — draped in a blanket and holding tight to a white pillow — alongside Soliz outside of the Chateau Marmont.
“Just to let people know … the news is fake !!!” she wrote in her post Thursday. “I Would like respect at this time for people to understand I am getting stronger everyday!!! Truth sucks so can someone teach me how to lie?”
“Goddeses out there, I’m reaching my higher power and furthermore, I hope you guys are too!” she wrote, later joking, “I need an espresso.”
The Chateau Marmont incident came just hours after Spears reached a divorce settlement with her ex-husband, Sam Asghari. Asghari — who dated the singer for seven years before they married in June 2022 — first filed to divorce Spears in August 2023, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for ending the marriage.
At the time, it was reported that Spears had an “ironclad” prenuptial agreement with Asghari, one that his lawyer said he would not contest. “There are many claims that Sam is challenging the prenup and threatening to exploit his ex-wife with videos,” Brandon Cohen of BAC Talent told Rolling Stone. “However, all these claims are false, as no negative intention has ever been directed towards her and never will be. Sam has always and will always support her.”
