‘The View’ producer hangs head as Joy Behar reads sex scene in book

Thursday’s episode of The View was not only a summit on bear attacks, but also a sensual symposium of erotic literature — all thanks to Joy Behar.

The show paused from its Hot Topics conversations to turn up the heat on another issue: the upcoming release of cohost Sunny Hostin’s new Summer on Highland Beach novel, which she said she wanted to “have Joy read some of the sexy parts” of live on air.

“Desire hit her hard and fast. She was burning up, sparked by fire, lit by joy — really?” Behar said as she orated a passage. “She’d forgotten how delicious spearmint tasted on her lips.”

Panelist Alyssa Farah Griffin then prompted Behar to “read the naughtier one,” though Behar paused before looking off camera as she sifted through the pages.

“It’s so bad. You really want me to read that? Oh my God,” Behar said, lowering her eyes as she continued to speak what was on the page. “She finally honored his demand, cupped his ass, and guided him inside.”

The words prompted Sara Haines and Hostin to erupt with laughter, with Haines even standing up from her chair to applaud Behar’s delivery.

“That’s embarrassing. Look at Brian,” Behar said, as the camera cut to producer Brian Teta, who lowered his head to his hands in horror over the events.

“Can I just point out,” moderator Whoopi Goldberg cut in, “that she doesn’t say where she guided him. She could’ve guided him inside the house you nasty folks!”

Teta’s on-camera reactions to the ladies’ antics have recently played a hilarious part in The View broadcasts — including in March, when Goldberg playfully scolded Teta for attempting to play the Oscar-winning icon off with awards show-style music.

“Well, here’s the deal: I’m not going, because I want to make sure that I finish my sentence,” Goldberg told Teta, before she continued speaking.
